The 7th annual April Anarchy tournament features all new teams! This annual tournament pits Ben vs Jen in a 2-player tournament Blood Bowl Team Manager -- this year we have the Legendary expansion with 21 new teams in 7 new leagues! These teams will fight to determine which will make it into the Anarchy next year with the original 12 teams in 2027!!!Play-in Match #1
Norsca Rampagers (Norse) vs Drakwald Beasts (Tzeentch)
The Norsca Yeeti and berserkers held their own for the first half of this matchup, but they could not pull the fans the way the star studded Drakwald team did. In the end, the mutations helped the Beasts less than old reliable coin in hiring Star Players.

Evil Gitz (Goblin/Squig) vs Praag Changlings (Kislev)
The team for Kislev danced to an early lead with a win of the Norsca Cup. The Changlings made use of several star Elven players and controlled the tempo of the matchup. The Squigs tried their best to devour their way to victory. A female star ogre joined the Gitz ranks, but it was too little too late as Bob Bifford and the Elves helped the Changelings out perform the Gitz

Bright Crusaders (Bretonnian) vs Elfheim Eagles (Elven Union)
The squires and knights of the Bright Crusaders out hit and out defended the Elfheim Eagles, despite how hard the Union tried to breakthrough. Some ball hogging star players helped the Crusaders maintain ball control while denying the Eagles their bread and butter. The Bretonnians are moving on in a match that was not as close as the score might make it look.

Sotek’s Word (Lizardmen) vs Frozen Phantoms (Ethereal)
In the opening round, the Word set a harsh tone, winning all three matchups, including the coveted Spike Trophy with a One-Two punch of hard hitting Sauron and elusive Skink. The Phantoms attempted to get away with the ball, but never made use of their more sneaky traits, and succumb to the brute force of the favored of Sotek in a lopsided matchup.

Galadrieth Gladiators (High Elf) vs Khorne’s Killers (Khorne)
Maximum haughtiness faced maximum carnage in this old rivalry. The High Elves weathered the murderous onslaught of the Killers and managed the field more effectively, and the result was not as close as the final score. The haughtiness of the elves played out in light of the superior control of the ball.

Opening Round Match #1 (Match #6 overall)
Lustria Croakers (Slann) vs Oldheim Ogres (Ogre)
Snotlings flew and Ogres pounded Slann into the turf in this lopsided matchup. The Lustrians were ill-prepared to deal with the Ogres and the Snotlings exhibited remarkable ball control. The Croakers brought on some effective Star Players, but it was too little too late.

Opening Round Match #2 (Match #7 overall)
Neter-Khertet vs Mongrel Horde
Rumors of a Tomb King turned out to be true, and it was fitting the original Chaos-All Stars can out of retirement to face them. The now named Mongrel Horde took the field first, and the in the first two matchups they managed the dusty skeletons well. The teams were tied after one, and the Tomb Guardian was fouled. Chaos fans poured onto the field and refs called the Horde for multiple penalties, ejecting scores of Horde fans. The riots take to the streets outside the stadium, but inside the game turns in favor of the Undead despite the Pharaoh getting fouled a second time. The the final round, Thrud the Barbarian earned huge cheers, and the Horde menagerie had control of the Bowl. The Tomb King returned - flipping that control! The final player, a Chaos Renegade lineman ran onto the pitch with a secret shiv and a bomb! It goes off and there is dust and body parts flying — it looks like a Blitz-Ra survived with his Pharaoh and the Tomb Kings win!

Bögenhafen Barons vs The Midden Moor Marauders
The Barons came to this matchup with a plan in mind and strategically danced around the Marauders. The Baron blitzers refused to take part in the self-flagellation the Slannesh faithful hoped for, while the Chaos Blockers were late to the game.
Bögenhafen had two a sponsor that brought two major Star Players who stared down the demons and eeked out a win.

Opening Round Match #4 (Match #9 overall)
Drakwald Beasts vs Underworld Creepers
Two chaos teams met up in a match for the ages. The Beasts got off to a good start, recruiting crafty freebooters and the coach had a good gameplay, holding the ball and building a lead. The Creepers tried to cheat and were heavily penalized, but two Necromantic star players, a Golem and Werewolf, help them tie the game at 18 heading into the final frame. The match ran long and the Beasts called a Time Out. A Horror ran onto the pitch with a bomb, but it had a short fuse, detonating in the middle of the Drakwald line, spreading Tzeench devotees across the pitch and giving the win to the Creepers.

Opening Round Match #5 (Match #10 overall)
Amazones All-Stars vs Praag Changlings
An all female team vs a circus round up… this is an curious match. A pair of trained bears dominate the early fixtures and the Kislev team takes an early lead. The Amazons get their ball control game going and the Changelings start to cheat more in responses. Bob Bifford makes an appearance! OMG, all of the Kislev players are tossed from two matchups! They get a single fan and one team upgrade in the penultimate round! But the Amazons fail to capitalize on the refs tight call and only take a 16-13 lead going into the final highlights. The teams split some nice highlights, with the Kslev team running the ball and the Amazons Hitting back hard. It all comes down to the Blood bowl - and the heavy cheating of Bob Bifford and that Bear… they don’t get caught this time, and the Changelings sneak back into a win 28-27. What an unexpected victory!

Opening Round Match #6 (Match #11 overall) April 23, 2026
Bruendar Grimjacks vs Bright Crusaders
The Bright Crusaders, fresh off their resounding victory against the Elfheim Eagles, in a high flying ball-tossing exhibition, faced off against the morbid Bruendar Grimjacks, just returning from a tour of the Sylvanian Leagues. The Grimjacks look … different. And they refused to play during the day! The match starts off slow and no-one won the initial tournament. The teams jockey for position and often refuse to hit each other — it’s a game of positioning and finesse rather than brute strength. 13-13 going into the final frame - and the Grimjacks let loose! The werewolf takes on ball, the Golem secures the tournament. The moon flickers in the sky and suddenly a Crusader disappears entirely! The Bretonians try to recover but it’s all too much and the Grimjacks dark necromantic sorcery has won them on to another round in the lowest scoring matchup this year 23 - 15.

Greenfield Grasshuggers vs Sotek’s Word
The Grasshuggers made great use of their cooks, hitting rarely, and refusing to get dragged away from their red-hots and bread baskets. The lizard men did their best to hit and run, but the treeman effectively hampered their progress and the halflings are through to the next round.

Galadrieth Gladiators vs Orcland Raiders
The High Elf’s make their way into the stadium, returning from a recent campaign in the Tilean Provences. Orcland is itching for a fight and they do their best to bring the game into the gutter. The High Elves avoid the trap laid by the orcs and manage to control the ball effectively in a close matchup, winning 39 - 33.

Oldhiem Ogres vs Underworld Creepers
Snotlings were flying - scoring multiple touchdowns in today’s matchup between the Creepers and the Ogres. The Creepers troll was fouled twice and failed to make any impact, while the passing strategy shown through for the Ogres, with a victory in the final matchup

Praag Changelings vs Neter-Khertet Tomb Kings
The circus came to town and they were ready to play! The bears made multiple plays with the ball, and the Pharaoh was fouled twice. The Tho-Ra and Blitz-Ra’s didn’t have much luck and this matchup was over early, 50 -19.

Greenfield Grasshuggers vs Bruendar Grimjacks
A bigger difference in teams could not exists - the bright cheery halflings from Greenfield and the dark, slavering necrotic underfed from Bruendar. The matchup was close, tied through three rounds. In the final round the Grasshuggers ran out of food… and things got dicey. Despite the Grimjacks losing Helmut Wulf to a nasty foul and the halflings desperately hiring the mercenary dark elf Jeremiah Kool, knight-errant Heinrich, AND legendary combo of Grak & Crumbleberry for the finals, the Bruendar werewolves and ghouls ran circles around the Grasshuggers and scored multiple times in the final frame: 32 - 19.

Quarterfinal Round Match #4 (Match #18 overall) May 3, 2026
Galadrieth Gladiators vs Bögenhafen Barons
Today’s matchup sees the most arrogant teams in the league face-off - the High Elf Galadrieth Gladiators and the Imperial Noble, Bögenhafen Barons. The Nobles took an early lead and the frustrated Gladiators began cheating. It worked for a moment, but then star player merch Jeremiah Kool was passes from a final he was handily winning single-handedly and the tide turned. The Gladiators tried to rally behind Pierrot Rainforest, Gloriel Summerbloom, and Charles de Bourbon, but Fuggit and Biter stole the show. The fans went wild as the Goblin on his Giant Squig injured multiple elves and winning the final frame for the Nobles in a squeaker.

Semifinal Round Match #1 (Match #19 overall) May 27, 2026
Oldheim Ogres vs Praag Changelings
Two eastern Old World teams from near the Worlds Edge Mountains face-off in the first semifinal of the 2026 April Anarchy tournament. The Ogres were slow to arrive, and the snotlings tried to take it to the Changelings. Instead, the Praag bears and acrobats took an early 10-6 lead. The Praag team swept the 3rd round and took a 22-18 lead into the final round. Then the Ogre finally showed up, throwing snotlings to two scores and the final score was tied at 34-34! The Ogres had 11 upgrades, to the Changelings 8, so the Ogres will progress into the April Anarchy Finals for 2026!

Semifinal Round Match #2 (Match #20 overall) May 28, 2026
Bruendar Grimjacks vs Bögenhafen Barons
The Barons, confident off of their victory over the High Elves, started with a strong passing game, using bodyguards to screen the throwers. The Grimjacks gave up a few scores while the werewolves and ghouls secured a few team upgrades. The undead ended up winning all three opening tournaments and yet were behind by 2 fans. The finals came down to the Barons Ogre who tried to cheat to gain an edge over the flesh golems from Bruendar. But he failed. The Moon phase favored the undead completely dominating one matchup as well and the Grimjacks move on to the finals!

April Anarchy 2026 Finals (Match #21 overall) May 29, 2026
Bruendar Grimjacks vs Oldheim Ogres
Jen took over the Oldheim Ogres in a gamble that she could win the finals and break even for the year. She is hoping brute force and chaos will beat out the forces of the Moon and living beyond death. The game started with snotlings running around, and the Grimjack ghouls and werewolves had a heyday with them. Then the Ogres came in to clean up. The first three matchups saw the Grimjacks building a slight 19-18 lead, but the Ogres gaining the support of the crowd as underdogs. Hooligans were out in support of the undead, and boy were they disgusting about it. Throwing limbs onto the field, they distracted more than one Ogre.
In the final a werewolf earned massive fandom by making a heroic goal line plunge. A ghoul ran away with the ball at another. In theBlood Bowl, the the Ogres had committed two big guys to the tournament cup. The ball moved back an forth as the mummy Akhemenses and G’Ral Blodsch made amazing plays for the Grimjacks, while twice a snotting was successfully flung into the end zone. The final nail in the Grimjacks coffin was M’Grog Gn’Throg who intimidated a freebooter into simply leaving the field voluntarily. The Oldheim Ogres win the April Anarchy Championship for 2026 by a measure of 31-28!

This was an epic April Anarchy, with the introduction of 21 new teams in seven fresh divisions. Overall I really enjoyed these new teams. They are all very different from the base game and official expansion teams, yet they fit the theme and the style of the originals perfectly. I look forward to mixing these sets together next year!
This addition of so many team made it necessary to change my storage method. I elected to go with a Entumo 3-Row Trading Card Storage Box, and Burger Token clear boxes, which stores all 33 of the teams with all 11 league star players and the tournament and highlight cards.
