I wanted special bases for my Blackstone Fortress set and found these from Warcradle on Noble Knight Games.
They have wonderful patterning on the MDF base. They are very lightweight as somewhat thin. They look great but present a problem in how to attach the figures to the base? The figures have large tabs for slots in the GW bases. I have researched options and elected to cut each tab down, and to drill and pin when the figure can support that, and to glue the tab directly where that is an option. Another option I will try is to cut the tab into a small pin shaped plastic bit and try to use that to secure the figure to the base.
I am painting the bases fully before attaching figures, and the adding additional grit/texture where necessary or desired.
