April Anarchy 2020 - Round 2 - Blood Bowl Team Manager Tournament

The Winners Bracket of the Blood Bowl Team Manger tournament April Anarchy 2020 is complete! The results are as follows:

(1) Champions of Death 42
(11) Nurgle's Rotters 38

The stench was nauseating at the start of this "Living Challenged" match-up. The Rotters led by 2 gong into the fourth (we play 4 rounds, not five) and final match-up, and Nurgle had managed to come through with enough gold to hire Morg'N'Thorg! But... he ended up being tossed from the Bloodbowl and the Rotter's other star player, a goblin chainsaw hooligan, fell on his own weapon, leading to a narrow victory for the defending AAL champions.

Side note - the corrupt Cabal obviously had made a deal with the Champions, as Nurgle had 5 contracts totally 12 fans, while the dry undead finished with 2 totaling 9 fans... Fickle Crystal Ball viewers, I suppose.

The Champions will face a play off with the Lowdown Rats.

(3) Athalorn Avengers 57
(8) Naggaroth Nightmares 45

The sylvan elves were not to be out done, grabbing every loose ball and relying on the heavy hand of star players and Treemen to keep them. The Dark Elf runners and Assassins mostly focused on sprinting and though the dirty tactics of the dark elf Queen was producing black fruit, and both teams were scoring high, it was not enough as the Avengers scored a 2nd highest AA total fans of 57 to move on to the finals!

(4) Lowdown Rats 42
(7) Reikland Reavers 29

This was not close. The Reavers made a slight comeback winning the Blood Bowl, but by then the sneaky gits had successfully used so much illicit weaponry and fouled so many Reikland players that the game was out of hand. The goblin shenanigans will next test their metal against the Champions of Death in a playoff round

My wife, the victor in Round 2 - again (2-1)

I won one of the match-ups again, with the Rats running chaotically around the Reavers. I can't figure out what to do against the Wood Elves, but the Champions of Death took a bit of luck in the finals to squeak by my Rotter's. I had so much disease everywhere - it really took boneheaded plays by both Stars the Nurgle team hired in the finals to lose that match-up. Oh well - that's why this is a good drinking game!
