Imperial Assault - Heart of the Empire - Wave 10
I started off with the "Dark Trooper" imperial security droids, painting one as Storm Trooper replacements, and another as "Dark Troopers", like from the older Kyle Katarn Dark Forces Star Wars video game.
The Heroes (Drokkatta, Jerrod Kelvin, and Ko-Tun Feralo) and Clawdite Shapeshifters were painted with new "Contrast" paints from GW. These act as paint and wash in one - they work well, but are a bit pastel/cartoonish, and also a little glossy. I was happy with the results, especially on Drokatta, the wookie grenadier. I found they worked best with some dry brushing or additional layering to help smooth out the transitions.

The Clawdite Shapeshifters are cool characters, but I struggled for inspiration with them. In the end I painted 3 of the 4 the same, leaving the 4th as an option to use for Outer Rim or Something.
