I've been using Micro Art Studio bases to upgrade my Descent 2nd Edition heroes, an idea I took from Sorestro's videos.
They have a great variety, and here are a set I have been working on for Descent and Imperial Assault:
I hot glue them to a nail for priming and painting, same as my miniatures!
